It is 布拉 (Bu La), which does not mean anything in Chinese. Could it be a transliteration of
his/her name?

md1101 -

布拉 (bu la) is a colloqial term and means to 'scoop' or 'shovel'. you'll have to figure out
what significance it has with your mate.

skylee: i got that off wenlin by the way.

skylee -

yeah what do I know about these things. am just a fool who doesn't use wenlin.

How is it pronouced? is it boo lah?

That's pretty much exactly how it's pronounced (minus the tones - but I don't think you want to
worry abt them in this instance - the tones would be bu4 la1.)

My NJStar dictionary doesn't have it - what a rip off, what am I doing using a dictionary that
doesn't have 布拉 in it? How will I ever get a job digging ditches in rural China?

sjcma -

布拉 = Paula?

zixingche -

Might be a transliteration of Paula, just a guess.
